The Department of Anthropology was established by Prof. Dr. Bozkurt Güvenç, in 1971. Since then, educational and research activities have been elaborated. In addition to undergraduate program, the department provides service courses to 10 different departments in 4 different faculties. Moreover, the department, which also has a minor program, offers elective courses to all other departments in the university. Although the educational language of our department is Turkish, there are some available courses in English for both ERASMUS students as well as for other foreign students. The M.A. and PhD programs in sociocultural and biological anthropology have been carried out in the department. The educational approach of department aims to follow scientific advances, and also to handle anthropology in a holistic view.
